From Cranbourne to Traralgon, now we’re heading to Balnarring

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks at Quilly Park!

On Friday, October 16th we were proud sponsor of the inaugural Cranbourne Corinthian to launch the start of the picnic racing season at Cranbourne. The jockeys were delighted to get a crack at the Open Trophy Picnic Race under lights and the race was broadcast live on Racing.com.

Cranbourne Turf Club and Country Racing Victoria certainly achieved their goal of showcasing picnic racing to a wider audience. The prize pot of $5,000 marks the highest stakes race for the picnic season.

At Traralgon last weekend, rain didn’t stop Immortal Fire winning his first professional race over 1430m. Harvey, as we call him, was ridden perfectly by the up and coming apprentice Ben Allen. Our trainer, Trevor Rogers was delighted with his efforts, particularly considering the track down grade and not being well weighted.

We also launched ‘You’ve Been QP’d’. Look out for us around the picnic circuit this season, we’ll be handing out stubby holders and caps to lucky racegoers. Check out our pic of Ibrahim Gundogdu as he was QP’d – we certainly took them by surprise!

This coming Saturday, it’s Balnarring Picnic Races first fixture this season. We are proud to once again be major sponsor at Balnarring and hope to see you on Saturday or at a coming fixture.
