Our Adelaide x Anantha colt sold for $60,000 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale on March 2nd to Henry Dwyer Racing.
What a surprise packet this colt was!
We didn’t go to the sales expecting to buy a yearling by Adelaide (although an exceptional racehorse he was), but this colt was all athlete.
We’ve only ever really liked one yearling by Adelaide at the sales and that was Group 1 winning filly Funstar, who Henry still rues that he didn’t buy.
This colt couldn’t have thrown more to the Hussonet side however, and in this case that’s not a bad thing, given he’s an outstanding broodmare sire of the likes of Rothfire, Tyzone, King’s Legacy, Shoals, Extreme Choice, Lucky Bubble amongst many others.
The colt’s dam, Anantha, is herself out of a three quarter sister to Fastnet Rock, so there’s plenty of quality in the family.
This colt will develop into a lovely three-year-old in time and we’re extremely excited to have purchased him for what we thought was a great price.
