A win for Taberna at Racing.com Park

Taberna won by a length and three quarters over 1,600m at Racing.com Park on Thursday, February 28th.

The connections were really happy with the Domesday filly’s run and believe she’s got an exciting future ahead of her.

I got pretty excited from about the 1,000m mark. Once she finally got out, she really extended.

She’s still got a long way to go. Her first few starts she was very green, and even showed it today.

She’s improving all the time, once she gets further she’ll be a really nice horse.

Quilly Park’s trainer Trevor Rogers said, ‘I’m super impressed with her, especially knowing that she is nowhere near where she needs to be. I’m hoping that she can hang in there as there are some nice races for 3-year-olds. If not we’ll be doing the right thing by the horse as she looks like she has a future.

‘She pulled up great but her body felt it. Mentally and structurally she’s ok. She’s eating and drinking and will hopefully bounce back.’

We think she can stay. You never know we might even take her up for the Queensland Oaks.

We plan to target races. If we get there, we’ve planned for it. If we don’t get there, the horse has told us it’s not ready for it.
