Our Puissance filly attracts highest price at VOBIS

Of eight Puissance de Lune yearlings, our Varone filly achieved the highest bid of $25,000 at the VOBIS Gold Sale on Sunday, April 22nd.

Our striking filly, one of just two Puissance de Lune greys, was purchased by Alisa Vermay for Empower Racing.

The purchase price was more than double that of the next highest Puissance de Lune.

She’s such a nicely put together filly, it took just half a day to sell her to my owners.

The filly is a tribute to the stud that preppped her, she has been well handled and all the ground work has been done.

Alisa Vermay, Empower Racing

Vermay said, ‘I liked her breeding, she’s well balanced like her dad and alert in her eye.

‘We have started the breaking in process, she’s happy being part of the team and is a sweetheart to deal with.

‘She’s showing a little bit of spirit in the paddock and a bit of ability.

‘Owners can get funny about purchasing from big sales. However, the plus side is it can take just 4 weeks instead of 8 to break them in as they’ve been so well educated, we save money so it’s a win-win.’

It was a great result for Quilly Park, being the highest sold Puissance de Lune of the VOBIS Gold lots.

We wish Alisa Vermay all the very best, we think she’s secured a great filly.
