De Gaulle to stand at Bombora Downs

De Gaulle jumped for joy on hearing the news!

We are excited to announce that De Gaulle will stand at Mornington Peninsula’s Bombora Downs this season.

Quilly Park’s Managing Director Richard Anderson said, ‘John [Pratt] and myself were looking at keeping De Gaulle privately but after Estijaab’s performance it has essentially given us the opportunity to commercialise our stallion.’

‘We are delighted to take this opportunity to work with Bombora Downs, they have all the services and facilities that a mare owner could possibly want,’ Anderson added.

Bombora Downs is looking forward to the 2018 breeding season, as we will be standing the well related stallion De Gaulle, a son of the speedy and versatile Exceed And Excel.

This is a real opportunity for the ‘breed to race’ breeder to access high class blood lines at a very reasonable price, with a view to the future.

De Gaulle, Richard Anderson and John Pratt

De Gaulle stood at John Pratt’s Brooker Park for his first season covering a closed book of mares.

Pratt said, ‘Everything about De Gaulle has been a pleasure. From dealing with Newgate and Magic Millions to De Gaulle’s beautiful temperament.

‘Obviously this must come from his duel Group 1 winning dam Response, as De Gaulle’s half sister Estijaab became the first filly in Slipper history to lead all the way, and managed all this in her first preparation.’
