Sally Sells Shells: Woolamai Horse of the Year

Sally Sells Shells, trained by Rebecca Waymouth and ridden by Debbie Waymouth, won four consecutive starts from five in total at Woolamai Picnic Races to win the track’s Horse of the Year Award.

The four-year-old Per Incanto mare is out of Quilly Park mare Waitui Belle and has been trained by Rebecca Waymouth since December last year.

I am delighted for Rebecca and Debbie Waymouth.

They’ve had a great season at Woolamai with the horse and fully deserved to take out the Horse of the Year Award.

Richard Anderson, Managing Director, Quilly Park

Sally Sells Shells won the Woods Environmental Maiden Plate at Healesville on November 3rd 2018 in Quilly Park’s colours for trainers Clay Beasy and Carlo Vidotto under Dani Walker.

Beasy said at the time that 1,000m was probably going to be her trip and her wins at Woolamai have been over that distance.

Sally Sells Shells has enjoyed the training environment that we have been able to provide.

She’s a highly energetic mare and a relaxed environment suits her, the results are displayed in her racing record.

We’re going to give her a try on wet tracks as have been given the impression that she would appreciate a wet surface.

We’ll give her a freshen up and have a try at it. If it doesn’t work for her, there’s always next season.
